An inspiring and exciting group dynamics activity open to all “0” knowledge, music enthusiasts, and experienced in music and drumming. A great way to release stress and lessen the toxic environment within the company.

Drumming is a great workout for your brain and actually can make you smarter.

Research shows that the physical transmission of rhythmic energy to the brain actually synchronizes the Logical Left & Intuitive Right Hemispheres, showing that you access your entire brain. Drumming also appears to synchronize the lower areas of the brain (non-verbal) with the frontal cortex (language & reasoning).

Drumming can release negative feelings. The act of drumming can serve as a form of self-expression. You can literally drum-out your feelings. When held, negative emotions can form energy blockages. The physical stimulation of hitting the drums can help remove those blockages. Drumming has even been used therapeutically to help anyone deal with their emotions. It allows personal transformation and it stimulates creative expression and a chance to get to self-express, the equivalent of talk therapy.

For Seniors, elderly, and health facilities:

Group drumming boosts cancer-killer cells. A study led by Neurologist Dr. Barry Bittman found that one group of drumming methods increased Lymphokine-Activated Killer (LAK) which signaled a strengthening of the body’s immune system.

Drumming is a good source of therapy.

Boosting the immune system to people who have Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Dementia.

Drumming also may be a powerful tool in helping retrain the brains of people who have some level of damage or impairment, such as with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD).

The sound of drumming generates new neural connections in all parts of the brain. This leads to a deeper sense of self-awareness.

Finally, drumming can induce a natural high by increasing Alpha brain waves. When the brain changes from the beta waves (concentration) to alpha waves, you feel calm and relaxed.

As such, Alpha waves can also produce feelings of well-being and even euphoria, which may help who suffer from mental illness, such as depression and anxiety.

“If I have a superpower, travelling through time not for the reason of changing anything in the past or in the future, but to simply re-live the memories and experiences in one’s life.

I’d be lying if I said I don’t know anyone who wants to experience a particular moment in their lives for the 2nd time. Everyone, if given a chance, has at least one moment they would love to go back to and experience it again. It would be incredible to have that as my superpower”

-Alex

Earl, a faculty member of the Drum Department, is great with children, teens and adults.

A dynamic and versatile musician whose journey through the world of music began in a family of musicians. From a young age, he was immersed in the enchanting world of melodies and rhythms. At the tender age of 14, Earl picked up the drums, and from that moment, there was no looking back.

Born and raised in a richly musical environment, Earl’s passion for music quickly transformed into his livelihood and life’s calling. At the age of 19, he embarked on a new chapter in the United States, where he continued to hone his craft and share his talents with audiences around the world.

One of Earl’s most remarkable qualities is his ability to transcend musical boundaries. He is a true virtuoso of sound, playing with equal fervor and precision in a myriad of genres. From jazz to rock, classical to funk, and everything in between, Earl’s drumming brings a unique and infectious energy to every performance.

Earl’s dedication to his art led him to the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where he honed his skills, broadened his musical horizons, and solidified his position as a top-tier drummer and musician.

As a testament to his commitment to his fellow musicians, Earl is a proud member of the Professional Musicians Local 47. This affiliation reflects his dedication to the craft and the broader music community.

Beyond his passion for performing, Earl is an active member of his community, contributing his musical talents to his church’s music ministry and supporting the nonprofit charity organization “AsOne.” This organization is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children in Laos, demonstrating Earl’s commitment not only to his craft but also to the betterment of society through music.

In addition to his impressive educational background, Earl has completed Michael Alba’s Master classes Module 1-2, further enriching his knowledge and expertise in the world of drumming and music.
